Samarkand: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Chinese President Xi Jinping in which the two leaders discussed important regional and international issues of mutual interest. According to the details, an important meeting was held between Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Chinese President Xi Jinping on the occasion of the 22nd Heads of State Meeting. During the meeting, important issues of mutual interest and international issues were discussed. While the two leaders reviewed all aspects of bilateral relations, the Chinese President described Shahbaz Sharif as a person of pragmatism and efficiency. This is the first meeting of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif with the President of China after assuming the position of Prime Minister.


The Prime Minister thanked the flood-affected people for their generous and timely assistance and expressed grief over the loss of life and destruction caused by the earthquake in China's Sichuan Province on September 5. Expressing his wishes, Shahbaz Sharif appreciated the impact of CPEC transformation on the socio-economic development of Pakistan and reiterated the government's commitment to the development of CPEC. The two leaders welcomed the signing of the Protocol to the Framework Agreement for the ML-1 Railway Project. Thanking the Chinese government for its cooperation in the fields, both leaders reiterated their commitment to building the Pakistan-China community for a common future. The Chinese President said that the Prime Minister is a leader with a long-standing commitment to China-Pakistan friendship, Shahbaz Sharif said that the organization is the best forum to advance concrete practical plans for regional cooperation and solidarity, our All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership and Iron "Brotherhood has stood the test of time," he said, adding that "our government and people stand with China after the deaths following the earthquake in the Chinese province of Sichuan, all issues of core interest, including Taiwan, Tibet, Xinjiang and Hong Kong." But reiterating his steadfast and unwavering support to China, the Prime Minister said challenges like climate change, pandemics and rising inequality can be tackled in accordance with the UN Charter.
